Contact Lens Exam in NYC

Transform your vision and your appearance with contact lenses from French Optical.

Book a Contact Lens Exam

In order to get the most comfort and best contact lens vision without injuring your cornea, you have to get fitted with contact lenses by an eye doctor. Schedule a contact lens exam with one of our optometrists at French Optical today. You will get a thorough eye exam followed by a contact lens evaluation. The eye doctor will determine the best brand and type of contact lenses based on your cornea’s parameters.

Our optometrists will provide you with the best quality lenses, lens care kits, and personalized instructions for contact lens wear and care. Since we keep most trial lenses in our NYC store, you will walk away with samples that will allow you to try the contact lenses before buying the supply. If you are a new contact lens wearer, we will also provide you with an “insert and removal” training and a free follow up visit to ensure good vision and a healthy cornea.

Proper Contact Lens Care

The American Optometric Association provided proper care and use instructions for people who wear contact lenses.

  1. Thoroughly wash your hands and dry them properly before handling your contact lenses.
  2.  Follow your optometrist’s instructions on how to carefully clean contact lenses. This may include rubbing your contact lenses with your fingers and rinsing them thoroughly before soaking them in a multipurpose solution overnight.
  3. Store your lenses in a proper lens storage case. For maintenance, clean the case after each use and keep it dry between cleanings. Replace the case after every three months.
  4.  Use only products that your optometrist recommends to clean and disinfect your lenses. Do not use saline solution or rewetting eye drops as they do not disinfect contacts.
  5. Never reuse old solutions when cleaning and storing contact lenses. Change the lens solution according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, even if you’re not using your contacts daily.
  6. Don’t wear contact lenses when swimming or entering a hot tub.
  7.  Schedule regular contact lens and eye examinations with your optometrist.
